The public shortcode widgets and the WooCommerce checkout workflow are separate parts of the plugin. A site can use the climate widgets, the checkout alerts, or both together.
Add customer-facing climate widgets anywhere shortcodes are accepted. Visitors can search a location and see the hardiness zone, minimum-temperature range, last and first frost dates, and the frost-free growing season.

These widgets turn WhatsMy.Zone climate data into useful storefront content for product pages, care guides, nursery resources, regional landing pages, and support articles.
[freeze_alert_zone] lets visitors search any supported location and see the hardiness zone, minimum-temperature range, and frost context.

The checkout part of the plugin can be enabled separately from the shortcode widgets. It gives WooCommerce stores a location-aware way to sell through cold weather with protection products, shipping recommendations, scheduling, and order-level follow-up.
Freeze Alert is only displayed on checkout when the plugin assesses the shipment as frost risky. If there is no danger of frost during the configured shipping window, the checkout stays clean and the plugin does not show a customer alert.
Admins can enable the checkout workflow independently, define the shipping window for frost danger checks, and choose whether to assess all shipping countries or only selected countries to save API calls.
Choose the products or categories that trigger checkout checks. Offer protection products for freeze-sensitive items, include complimentary protection, or explain why protection cannot be offered for a particular shipment.
If the store has shipping methods better suited for frost danger, Freeze Alert can recommend those options during checkout with merchant-controlled labels and notes.
Offer scheduled later delivery after frost danger is over, add an optional delayed shipping discount, let the customer accept the risk without extra protection, and add any known risky route points to the evaluation.
The customer-facing checkout alert presents the available choices before the order is placed. The admin order views then keep the assessment and customer choice visible for handling risky orders.
Customers can see the frost danger message and choose from the options the merchant has enabled: protection product, recommended shipping, scheduled later delivery, or risk acceptance. The alert stays silent when there is no frost risk during the configured shipping window.
The Orders view can show which orders were assessed so the team can quickly identify shipments that need cold-weather handling.
Each risky order can include an action panel showing the customer choice, assessment details, and the information support or fulfillment teams need before shipping.
The package is a WordPress plugin distributed as a ZIP. The same plugin can display climate widgets on normal WordPress pages and add WooCommerce checkout checks when ecommerce protection is enabled.
Upload the ZIP through WordPress, activate the plugin, connect the WhatsMy.Zone service account, configure checkout behavior, and add shortcode widgets through the Freeze Alert shortcode reference screen.
Climate, zone, frost-date, growing-season, and freeze-aware shipping lookups come from WhatsMy.Zone; see the WhatsMy.Zone service policies. Forecast checks use Open-Meteo terms and privacy, and location/address lookup uses the Nominatim usage policy and OpenStreetMap privacy policy.
